Terra is an innovative sustainability initiative promoting circular communities. This year, the team is developing Bloom Pods: compostable slow-release fertilizer pods made from dining hall food waste, created through a partnership with UBC Student Residences and Food Cycle Science. The project transforms pre-consumer food waste and diverts emissions while giving at-home gardeners and plant owners easy access to one-of-a-kind, nutrient-rich plant care.

EVERY WEEK, WE RESCUE PRE-CONSUMER FOOD WASTE FROM CAMPUS DINING HALLS
WE TURN FOOD WASTE INTO NUTRIENT-RICH SLOW-RELEASE FERTILIZER PODS: BLOOM PODS
WE HELP OUR COMMUNITY GROW HEALTHIER PLANTS AND GARDENS
